Technology executive with over two decades of global software engineering leadership. I set technology strategy, scale platforms, and put AI to work in production - most recently leading engineering organizations at PE- and venture-backed companies and mid-market enterprises, always in close partnership with product. Along the way I have scaled multi-tenant SaaS platforms, shipped agentic AI systems that run in production rather than in a demo, and modernized cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
What ties that work together is a habit of building automation, performance, and reliability into high-growth environments, and of keeping engineering execution pointed squarely at the business strategy. The payoff shows up as faster delivery, lower infrastructure cost, and value that customers and investors can both measure.

My leadership centers on servant leadership-operating alongside teams to clear blockers and amplify their success. I believe in empowering engineers through context rather than control, fostering psychological safety, and creating cultures where ownership, innovation, and continuous learning thrive. I hire, develop, and retain high-performing technical teams, and I measure my own success by how well those teams learn, ship, and own their outcomes.
Distributed Teams Since 2006
I have been leading hybrid teams since 2006 and fully remote, globally distributed teams since 2012 - long before distributed work became the default. Those teams have combined onshore, nearshore, and offshore engineers across the United States, Central America, Ukraine and the wider Eastern Europe region, Germany, India, China, and the Philippines. I run them as one engineering organization with shared standards, shared ownership, and a shared roadmap, never as a vendor sitting at the far end of a ticket queue.

Beyond Technology
When I'm not leading global teams, architecting software solutions, or mentoring engineers, you'll find me enjoying the outdoors in Central Wisconsin. I'm an avid golfer passionate about courses like Sand Valley, and I also enjoy snowmobiling in the winter and water sports in the summer. My favorite moments are spent camping with my wife and dogs, often capped off by peaceful, star-filled nights by a warm campfire, where I put my infectious sense of humor to good use telling jokes and stories.
My passion for technology continues off-the-clock. I'm deeply invested in mastering the AI-native SDLC, moving beyond simple co-pilots to explore how autonomous AI agents can fundamentally reshape development. This involves engineering generative CI/CD pipelines that don't just test code, but actively learn from and self-heal it. Hand-in-hand with this exploration is a critical focus on AI ethics-examining the practical challenges of algorithmic bias, explainability (XAI), and building "Responsible AI" guardrails directly into the systems we create. This synthesis of next-generation technology and human-centric governance is the core thesis of my upcoming book on technology leadership in the AI era.
